opening the workshop door - an interview with Peter Sheppard Skærved

On April 25th I took part in a hugely enjoyable onstage conversation about my work, and the creative process more generally, with Grammy-nominated violinist Peter Sheppard Skærved. This was part of an evening in which he showcased new works by David Matthews and young composers from the Malmö Academy of Music, Sweden, alongside exquisite solo works by Georg Philipp Telemann. Our conversation covered topics such as visual pleasure in the imperfect and infinitely varied forms produced by hand making and the affective dimensions of slow craftsmanship, alongside shared thoughts about the meaning of slow and disciplined practice across our disciplines.
